Hon. Francis Gonahasa Barnabas, the former Member of Parliament for Kabweri County in Kibuku district, has died.
“It is with great sadness that I received the news of the passing on of Hon. Francis Gonahasa, the former MP for Kabweri County,” announced Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Anita Annet Among, on Sunday.
She said Gonahasa was a dedicated legislator and Shadow Minister whose commitment will always be remembered.
“My sincere sympathies to his family, friends and in-laws.”
Hon Francis Mwijukye, the MP for Buhweju County, remembers Gonahasa as being a vocal Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) legislator.
“Sorry for the passing of Hon Gonahasa Francis, former Kabweri County MP. We joined Parliament at the same time & he was a vocal FDC legislator. May his soul rest eternally!” Mwijukye tweeted.
