Five suspects in the murder of Eng. Daniel Bbosa, the former Ndiga clan head, have been arraigned and charged in court.
Eng. Daniel Bbosa, was on February, 25, 2024 shot dead at Kikandwa village, Lungujja-Rubaga Division, in Kampala District.
The five suspects include; Lujja Noah, a 21 year old, Mason of Kabanga village, Mpigi town council, Nakiguli Harriet, a 40 year old, peasant of Nkere zone, Kawempe division, Nakabale Joseph, a 47 year old, Painter of Gala village, in Mpigi Town Council, Mayanja Ezra of Kiganda zone in Kawempe division and Naluwenda Milly, a 46 year old, Secretary of Kisekwa Court of Buganda and resident of Kitunzi zone 7 Rubaga division.
The Mwanga II magistrates court was told that the accused and other still at large on February, 25 at Kikandwa Lungujja in Rubaga division with malice aforethought unlawfully caused the death of the victim.
The state prosecutor, Caroline Mpumwire told court that investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
The suspects were not allowed to take plea since their offence is capital in nature and tried only by the High Court.
Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga noted that the hunt for the suspect and mastermind of the alleged murder, a one Lujja Bbosa Tabula, who is on the run and still hiding, remains active and ongoing.
In addition, he revealed that the bounty offer of Ugx 10m, has been extended, for anyone who can avail police with credible information, that can lead to his arrest.
“As the Joint CI/CID task team, we continue to use all tools available to us, to zealously, pursue and hold him accountable for his crimes. His arrest will help us unseal the murder-for-hire plot,” he noted.
