First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni has tested negative for coronavirus after spending days in self-isolation.

“Good news: Maama Janet has defeated Coronavirus. This morning, her samples were sent to Mbarara and they were all negative. Thank you for your prayers,” President Museveni announced on Monday January 1, 2024.

Two days ago, Museveni also checked again for corona and the results were negative like they were on the 26th of December, 2023.

“The doctors are now saying that corona spreads more through touching yourself on the soft parts of the body (the eyes, the nose, the mouth, etc.) with infected hands than even through breathing. Is it true? Hon. Jane Aceng, please clarify to all,” he stated.

He added: “Maama is now out of self-isolation. She fought bravely. Praised be the Lord.”

He urged more vigilance and issued some guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.

“To watch are the door-handles, tables, arm-chairs that need to be sanitized and documents and, of course, the unnecessary hand shaking.”
