A fire broke out at Katwe Police Barracks in Kampala on Tuesday afternoon destroying officers’ houses.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, the fire started at about 4pm.
He said the fire destroyed 10 officer housing units.
The Police Fire and rescue services responded at the scene and the fire has been managed.
“No loss of life or injuries registered and much of the property was evacuated by officers,” Owoyesigyire explained.
He said investigations are currently on to establish the exact cause of the fire.
