Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) National Chairman, Amb. Wasswa Birigwa has expressed sorrow over the death of the former Attorney General, Peter Nyombi.
Peter Nyombi passed away on Sunday at a hospital in the capital, Kampala.
“It is very sad, Nyombi was a good friend and it so happens that he has been a lawyer to my family for very many years,” Birigwa said.
Birigwa said that as a person, Nyombi was a very good man who remained humble despite all that he achieved in life.
“Despite what he was, he maintained a stature that cares for others; this is what many politicians lack.”
“We will miss him dearly and we send our condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues all over the world.”
The former lawyer and politician died at the age of 64. Nyombi had hypertension and succumbed to heart failure.
He was the government Attorney General since 2011 for a period of four years having succeeded Kiddu Makubuya. As a politician, Nyombi represented Buruuli county in Nakasongola district in Parliament.
