The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) National Executive Committee has resolved to commence the implementation of the Structures Election Roadmap in a bid to strengthen the party structures.

According to an adopted roadmap, the party shall elect leaders starting from the villages to the districts followed by the National Delegates Conference to elect National Executive Committee Members.

“We expect to hold elections in 71,230 villages, 10,595 Parishes, 2211 Sub-Counties, 353 Constituencies, and 150 districts. At each level, we shall elect nine (9) members of the Youth League, nine (9) members of the Women League, and eight (8) members of the Mainstream/executive,” a statement from the Najjanankumbi-based political party read.

It adds, “This adds up to twenty-six (26) leaders at each level, that is to say, The Party expects to have twenty-six (26) leaders from each of the 71,230 villages, Twenty-six (26) leaders from each of the 10,595 Parishes, Twenty-six (26) leaders from each of the 2211 Sub – Counties, Twenty-six (26) leaders from each of the 353 Constituencies and Twenty-six (26) leaders from each of the 150 districts.”

FDC further noted that the district shall elect the PWDs executive with five (5) executive leaders with an expectation of One Million Eight Hundred Fifty-One Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty (1,851,980) leaders at the village branches, Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Four Hundred Seventy (275,470) leaders at the Parish, Fifty Seven Thousand Four Hundred Eighty-Six (57,486) leaders at the Sub – County, Nine Thousand One Hundred Seventy-Eight (9,178) leaders at the Constituencies, Three Thousand Nine Hundred (3,900) leaders at the district and Seven Hundred Fifty (750) leaders of the district PWDs, by the end of the process.

The party says the Electoral Commission will issue a letter to all district branches with a directive to identify competent, reputable, and respectable leaders who will oversee on behalf of the FDC EC elections at the grassroots.

“We call upon all our members to prepare and take up the various leadership positions as we further the struggle against the ‘junta’,” the party stated.
