Mandela National Stadium, Namboole was the place to go on Wednesday evening when Uganda Cranes interim coaches Moses Basena and Fred Kajoba officially started work with the national team.
From the media to ordinary fans, everyone was eager to attend this session that followed slight rains.
The training session kicked off a few minutes after 4 p.m with 16 players reporting for duty.
“It has been a great session. I have liked the players’ response. As a team, we are more than ready to play Rwanda whom we acknowledge is a competitive side. We shall continue to train for the rest of the days for team bonding,” Moses Basena, who was flanked by his co-coach Fred Kajoba told the media.
After close to two hours of training that included use of the ball under minimal spaces, shooting, small sided games and ball maintenance, the players retired home.
Day two of the non-residential training continues on Thursday evening at Namboole, still.
Uganda Cranes is preparing for the second round of the 2018 TOTAL CHAN Championship qualifier against Rwanda.
