Kampala, April 8, 2026 — Equity Bank Uganda has unveiled a new upgraded digital banking system, Equity Online for Business, designed to streamline financial operations, improve efficiency, and strengthen digital service delivery for corporate clients.
The platform, launched on Wednesday at Protea Hotel in Kampala, replaces the bank’s previous system, EazzyBiz, and introduces expanded features including real-time transaction tracking, stronger security systems, and integrated business management tools.
Speaking at the launch, Equity Bank Uganda Executive Director Claver Serumaga said the platform was developed to match the speed and demands of modern commerce.

“Commerce is evolving rapidly, with customers expecting immediacy, reliability and seamless integration. Equity Online for Business responds to these needs by consolidating all essential financial tools into one platform: enabling businesses to manage accounts, supplier payments, payroll, recurring bills, foreign transactions and reconciliations with clarity and efficiency,” Serumaga said.
He added that businesses now require instant access to financial services to remain competitive. “Today’s businesses operate in real time. With this platform, you can manage multiple accounts, make bulk payments, and reconcile transactions instantly. We are putting that power directly in the hands of our customers,” he said.
Serumaga emphasised that the system goes beyond traditional internet banking. “This is more than a banking platform. It is a business financial tool designed to eliminate inefficiencies, improve decision-making, and continuously evolve based on customer needs. What we are launching today is just the beginning,” he added.

Full Digital Control for Businesses
The bank says the platform offers multiple access channels, including web, mobile applications, API integrations, and host-to-host connectivity, allowing companies to manage operations in real time.
Equity Bank Uganda Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications Clare Tumwesigye said the launch reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting digital transformation. “We are gathered to take a step forward in how we support businesses to grow, to thrive and to operate seamlessly, especially in this increasingly digital economy,” Tumwesigye said.

Head of Payments and Channels Immaculate Asiimwe said the platform gives businesses full operational control. “We are giving business owners full control to manage operations in real time. Upload files, pay salaries, and approve international transfers. Everything you need is done instantly with no waiting or back-office delays,” she said.
She added that everyday financial operations have been simplified. “From taxes to utility bills, cashflow management to everyday payments, you can handle it all from your phone. The platform is secure, and only you control your accounts, giving your business both convenience and peace of mind,” Asiimwe said.

She further noted that onboarding support will be provided. “Getting started is simple. Each business has a dedicated relationship manager to guide setup, provide training and ensure you are confident using the platform. Managing your business has never been this easy,” she added.
Security and Advanced Features
The platform includes enhanced security features such as OTP verification, token-based authentication, and structured approval workflows. It also supports multi-currency visibility, automated sweeps, real-time FX updates, and instant cross-border payments.

According to the bank, these upgrades are aimed at building a more efficient, cash-lite business ecosystem.
Customer Experience
Long-time Equity customer Hassan Abdullah shared his experience using the platform, saying it had transformed his operations.
“I used to be the first at the bank and the last to leave. Now I run almost everything from my desk or phone. We’re close to 100% digital, and honestly, this is one of the best platforms I’ve seen,” he said.

Transition to New System
The bank confirmed that all business clients will be migrated to Equity Online for Business starting April 8, 2026, with training and onboarding support provided to ensure a smooth transition.
Equity Bank Uganda urged both existing and new customers to adopt the platform, saying it represents a major step in its digital transformation strategy.
