The Directorate of Crime Intelligence has arrested Lukungu Ivan alias Pallaso, a 25-year-old resident of Nyendo in connection with the robbery which occurred at the home of Hajji Lumolo and his wife Hon. Amb. Barbara Nekesa.
“DCI task team booked out from old Kampala division and Katwe division, on intelligence to Masaka, on 25.01. 2024,” said SCP Enanga Fred, Police Spokesperson,
After two days of intensified surveillance, they arrested the suspect on 27.01.2024 along Edward Street in Masaka City.
“Upon further interrogation, he admitted to having participated in the robbery that took place in Muyenga, and confirmed that he received Ugx 120m, out of their loot, which he spent as follows; a. Bought a Toyota Harrier at Ugx 62m, b. Restaurant at Ugx 10m, c. A house at Nyendo Mukude at Ugx 20m, d. Plot along Nabugabo road Masaka at Ugx 15m and e. An electronic shop bought at goodwill worth Ugx 16m.”
He added: “It was established that the suspect was in Masaka City, from 10.01.2024, till to date, and was transferred from Masaka to Kabalagala police division for further court process.”
At the time of his arrest, he had allegedly spent Shs123m.
He now becomes the 13th suspect in the incident of armed robbery.
