Xiaomi has launched the REDMI Note 17 Series, the latest generation of its mid-range smartphone range, with four new models priced from US$249 to US$499.
The line-up comprises the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17. The Pro Max is the first model of its kind in the REDMI Note range and sits at the top of the series.
Xiaomi says the new phones focus on longer battery life, faster charging, better water and drop resistance and a redesigned exterior. The company is also offering up to six years of security updates across the series.
The launch comes as Xiaomi says the REDMI Note range has passed 500 million shipments worldwide, according to internal company data as of 31 May 2026.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G costs from US$499 and comes in Cloud Blush, Green, Purple and Black. It carries a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Xiaomi says is the largest it has fitted in a smartphone, though some markets will receive a 9,210mAh version instead.
The phone supports 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging for other devices. Xiaomi says it can last up to three days on a single charge and that 20 minutes of charging provides a full day of use, based on its own laboratory tests.
The Pro Max runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip and comes in four memory and storage configurations, from 8GB + 128GB to 12GB + 256GB. It has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Its cameras include a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 32MP front camera, with 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. It weighs 229.5g in its 10,000mAh form.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G costs from US$399 and comes in Sky Blue, Satin Orange, Purple and Black. It has an 8,340mAh battery with 67W charging and runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip, in five configurations up to 12GB + 256GB. It shares the Pro Max’s 6.83-inch display and has a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 16MP front camera.
Both Pro models carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. Xiaomi says they passed a 72-hour immersion test at a depth of two metres and survived three-metre drops onto granite in tests certified by SGS. They use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and, according to Xiaomi, are the first phones to earn TÜV SÜD’s 5-star Titan Quality Certification, a standard the company developed jointly with the testing firm.
The REDMI Note 17 5G costs from US$299 and the REDMI Note 17 from US$249. Both come in Celestial Purple, Sky Teal and Black, and share a 7,700mAh battery with 45W charging and a larger 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The 5G model runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, while the REDMI Note 17 uses the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2, which does not support 5G networks. Both have a 50MP main camera and a 16MP front camera, and are rated IP65 for dust and water resistance.
Xiaomi says the batteries across the range retain at least 80 per cent of their capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which it equates to about six years of typical use.
All four phones run Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 and support Google Gemini and Circle to Search. The Pro Max also features Xiaomi HyperAI, which includes tools for writing, translation and speech recognition. Xiaomi says the availability of AI features varies by region.
Buyers in eligible markets will receive trial subscriptions to Google One, YouTube Premium and Spotify Premium.
