KAMPALA — Britania Allied Industries has officially launched Splash Kachupa, a new PET bottle version of its popular Splash fruit drink, and unveiled media personality and content creator Daniel Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, as the brand’s campaign ambassador.

The launch marks a major expansion of the Splash brand, which has been a household name in Uganda for more than 25 years. The new product comes in convenient plastic bottles and is aimed at meeting growing consumer demand for portable and resealable beverages.

Splash Kachupa is available in six flavours — Mango, Apple, Tamarind, Orange, Berries, and Grapes & Berries. Consumers can buy a 400ml bottle at Shs2,000 or a 250ml bottle at Shs1,200.

Speaking at the launch, Britania’s General Manager for Sales and Marketing, Robert Muwagula, said the company wants to build on the trust that generations of Ugandans have placed in the Splash brand.

“Splash Kachupa is a PET fruit drink variant of Splash that is more affordable, portable and resealable while maintaining the trusted taste that Ugandans already know and love,” Muwagula said.

“We want it to be the first choice for consumers looking for something refreshing, familiar and enjoyable.”

He added that the launch responds to changing consumer habits, with more Ugandans preferring bottled drinks because they are easy to carry and can be resealed after opening.

“Consumer habits in Uganda are shifting. PET-packaged beverages are becoming increasingly popular because they offer convenience and flexibility for people on the move,” he said.

Britania Chief Executive Officer Ali Yousef Ebraik described Splash Kachupa as a strategic investment in the future of both the Splash brand and the company.

“Splash Kachupa is an investment in the future of the Splash brand and in Britania’s growth as a company,” Ebraik said.

“We have carefully ensured that Splash Kachupa strengthens the Splash family without taking away what makes the original Splash so loved. The Splash family grows together.”

During the event, Britania also announced Kasuku as the official ambassador for Splash Kachupa, a move the company says will help the brand connect with young consumers across the country.

Kasuku

“Kasuku represents the spirit we want this brand to carry — connected, relatable and deeply Ugandan,” Ebraik said. “Brands grow through communities, conversations and culture, and Kasuku helps us bring Splash Kachupa into that space authentically.”

The nationwide campaign will run under the tagline “Flavour Mu Kachupa” and will be rolled out across supermarkets, wholesale shops, kiosks, trading centres and community events throughout Uganda.

Britania says it has invested heavily in upgrading production facilities to meet the expected demand for the new product while maintaining quality standards.

Founded more than 30 years ago, Britania Allied Industries is one of Uganda’s leading food and beverage manufacturers. The company produces popular brands including Splash, Yojus, SunSip, TopUp and a range of biscuits enjoyed by consumers across the country.
