Former Member of Parliament for Rubaga South and actor, Hon. Kato Lubwama, is dead.
According to reports, he died of a heart attack at Stana Medical Centre in Bunamwaya on Wednesday morning.
He was first announced by events promoter, Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo.
“Sad news,” posted the administrator of a Twitter account attributed to Lubwama, confirming his death.
According to the handle, Lubwama’s last public appearance was at the start of this week.
“Met these fans of mine, they are so into the Ugandan culture and content. Can’t wait to see them at the #CeaseFireTheatrePlay at Kampala Serena Hotel come the 29th of July. Don’t miss #KatembaMuSerena it will be 🔥 #LubwaxSaySo,” he tweeted.
He was the founder of Diamonds Ensemble, Diamonds Production and B24 TV.
An actor, playwright and theatre director, he came into the limelight in the 1990s.
He later crossed into politics and was elected the Rubaga South MP in 2016. He lost the seat in 2021 General Elections.
