In a thrilling conclusion to a 10-week rollercoaster of entertainment, emotion, and drama, Imisi emerged as the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10 during a glittering two-hour finale.
Born Opeyemi Ayanwale, the 23-year-old from Oyo State outshone 28 other contestants to claim the highest-ever prize in BBNaija history: N150 million, including N80 million in cash.
The season’s finale also made history with an all-female top two, as Dede finished as first runner-up. Completing the top five were Koyin, Sultana, and Kola, while Kaybobo, Isabella, Mensan, and Jason Jae rounded out the top nine after Faith’s earlier disqualification.
Before announcing the winner, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu brought the finalists to the stage for their final interviews. “Both of you have a lot of followers, a lot of fans and supporters, but unfortunately, only one person’s name is inside here,” he said, waving the envelope containing the winner’s name. “You’ve fought a good fight, survived 10 weeks, but only one of you can take it.”
An emotional Imisi admitted, “I’m so excited. I never saw myself in the top two. Words can’t even express what’s going on in my mind – I am so overwhelmed right now.” When asked what she planned to do with her prize money, she said she would treat her family to a special outing and then take time to reflect.
The moment Ebuka announced her as the winner, Imisi dropped to her knees in tears, bringing a poignant close to an extraordinary tenth season.
The live finale opened with a high-energy performance by Adekunle Gold, singing Coco Money, followed by Iyanya performing One Side, before Adekunle returned for Many People. Joining Ebuka from the fan park broadcast was Uti Nwachukwu, Big Brother Africa Season 5 winner and co-host of Jara.
Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing, West Africa at MultiChoice, praised viewers’ engagement, saying, “On behalf of my colleagues and the production team, thank you to all the viewers and customers for their unwavering support all through the season. The real win is how the format continues to evolve. It’s been a 10/10 impact, and we love it.”
Earlier in the evening, Biggie addressed the top nine housemates in the house, offering words of encouragement: “Take a good look around you: this is no longer just a house, but the stage where legends are made. You are finalists – the very heartbeat of a season the world will never forget. A truly 10/10 season.”
He continued, “Ten is symbolic… it represents a new beginning in the outside world, the start of your lives as celebrities, and the best years of your lives.” Ebuka echoed this sentiment, reminding fans, “If anyone tells you their fave carried the show, it’s a lie. All 29 housemates gave us a show.”
With unforgettable performances, emotional highs, and fierce competition, Big Brother Naija Season 10 lived up to its name – truly a 10/10 season.
