The six legislators who were recently suspended from the House by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga have vowed to challenge the newly signed Presidential Age limit law before the constitutional court.
These who filed a case in constitutional court challenging Kadaga’s decision of dismissing them from the house for seven sittings, made this revelation through their lawyer, Erias Lukwago in Kampala
Lukwago has pointed out this Bill which was signed into a law on December 27 last year by President Museveni contains a number of smuggled provisions which were never brought to the attention of Parliamentary legal committee as required by the law.
On Monday, Lukwago had come to court with 4 of these suspended MPs who included Mubarak Munyagwa (Kawempe South), Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West), Gerald Karuhanga (Ntungamo municipality) and Anthony Akol (Kilak North).
Their case was recently referred by High Court to the Constitutional court since it has the jurisdiction to interprete matters pertaining to the law.
