In his maiden speech, Prof. Rugumayo committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, learning and service to society.

“In so doing, I implore the stakeholders of Mountains of the Moon University to support me in carrying out this task. It is important to note that the responsibility we have is to develop and shape the minds of our young generation, we should therefore aim at working professionally, and ethically to transform the minds of our university.”

He said teaching should encompass strategies and practices that promote economic growth, social equity, and environmental stewardship while ensuring the well-being of current and future generations.

“It is my hope and dream as a founding member chancellor of MMU to witness the university extend services to the whole region.”

In her speech, Vice President Alupo assured the management that the report they gave would be relayed directly to His Excellency, the President for solutions to be prescribed and disseminate the outcome of those recommendations afterwards.

“To the graduands, today is a day of celebration, reflection, and anticipation as you are facing a new chapter. The encouraging part of facing the new chapter is that you are leaving the university space already equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during your studies,” she noted.
