Just a day after being unveiled as Uganda’s new Cranes coach, Sébastien Desabre has rejected the Namboole training pitch saying it is of poor quality.
According to insiders at the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA), the French tactician who visited the Cranes while training at Namboole yesterday, instructed FUFA to provide an alternative training ground with immediate effect. This prompted the football federation to shift today’s training session to the Maroons stadium in Luzira.
However, Ahmed Hussein Marsha, the FUFA communications manager has dismissed the reported shifting of the training due to Coach Desabre’s instructions saying today’s training in Luzira was in FUFA’s earlier arrangements.
“We used Namboole outer pitch yesterday but it is not good for training. The main pitch was booked for a non sports function”.
“Maroons stadium in Luzira was in our earlier plans only that it was being used yesterday”, Ahmed Hussein added while speaking to SoftPower news.
