British actor, musician and producer, Idris Elba, is in Rwanda for opportunities in the creative arts industry.

Elba is accompanied by his wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, a Canadian model and activist who is also the UN Goodwill Ambassador for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The couple was received Friday by President Paul Kagame at Urugwiro Village.

According to the Rwanda Presidency, Elba and Kagame discussed opportunities for partnerships in developing the creative arts industry.

The couple also named their baby gorilla Narame meaning “long life” at the 19th Kwita Izina Ceremony held in Kinigi, at the foothills of the Volcanoes National Park.

On the same day, Kagame received Cyrille Bolloré, CEO of Bolloré Transport and Logistics, to discuss the company’s current and future investments in Rwanda.

The French business leader named his baby gorilla Mugisha at the 19th Kwita Izina Ceremony.

President Kagame also met with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Director-General, Audrey Azoulay, and her delegation.

The UNESCO Director-General named her baby gorilla Ikirango at the 19th gorilla naming ceremony.
