With jokes cracked by the Ndere team and a ‘welcome cocktail’, guests enjoyed the vibrant and diverse culture of Uganda’s 56 tribes through dance, drama, and music performances.

Uganda is a gifted country with diverse cultures. Over 50 tribes are in Uganda, with different cultural settings, from the dance to the food and living, among others.

Guests were all smiling through the night as the cultural troops swayed the chilly evening with enormous entertainment from all over Africa.

An interactive session where the lead entertainer made introductions and welcomed the visitors, with a mention of their different countries, left everyone smiling.

Speaking at the function, Lily Ajarova, the UTB CEO, said what defines Uganda better and its experience, it’s the culture.

“The wildlife and other things you can get them anywhere else, but what you can’t get somewhere else is the culture, there’s nowhere in the world where you can get this kind of experience,” she said.

The highlight of the day to some, was the Karamoja dance and folktale, the show of a marriage process in Karamoja, felt like a showdown in the North East part of Uganda, a beautiful land with the magnificent Manyatas’, and the beautiful Kidepo National Park, a place one should visit in his or her lifetime.

From the drinks, eats and to the great food at the centre, the organizers couldn’t have chosen a place not other than Ndere Centre.

One of the guests said it was his first time to be in Uganda, but the experience and beauty of the country, left him asking for more, vowing to return.

The event was also attended by the UTB Chairperson, Daudi Migereko, the Vice Chair lady of Private Sector Foundation Uganda, (PSFU) Sarah Kagingo, and UTB Vice Chairperson, Susan Muhwezi, among others.

“Ndere has given you what Uganda looks like, and I believe you will be able to visit Uganda more, the people, and culture and hope you enjoyed the food,” Ajarova told her guests.

POATE is East Africa’s tourism signature event that brings together tourism stakeholders to one ideal meeting place to meet and network with exhibitors, buyers, investors and suppliers of services in the tourism sector from all over the world.

The Expo hosts international buyers and media from key source markets for physical B2B events, among others.
