Dr. Jibril Owomugisha while handing over the fruit trees said trees help to improve food security, household income, and nutritional supplements for the staff. He further encouraged soldiers to plant and care for all the trees planted in the barracks.

He added that the tree-growing campaign started with the URDCC (Gaddadi Barracks), Kaweweta Recruits Training School, SFC barracks, Elgon Region, and South Western Uganda during the recently concluded Tarehe Sita activities.

He later met the Division Commander, Brig Gen Joseph Ssemwanga and they discussed environmental concerns and gave him a delivery note of 2,000 fruit trees.

In attendance were Officers and Men of 1 Division.
