The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) says marking of both the Primary Leaving Examinations and Uganda Certificate of Examination has commenced at all marking centres.

According to the UNEB Spokesperson, Jenifer Kalule, they hope the exercise be done before the end of January 2023.

She further revealed that the final preparations for the marking of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) will commence after the examinations have ended.

Kalule cautioned the public that the UNEB marking centres are heavily guarded and are out of bounds for anyone not authorized to access the centres.

“We assure the public of our commitment to release the outcome of the examinations in time to enable the candidates/ learners to pursue their continued studies as per the Ministry of Education Calendar.”

UNEB has a total of 41 examination centres for all three levels of the examinations.

These include 20 UCE centres, 13 PLE centres and 8 centres for UACE.
The Board has also contracted about 6,000 examiners to mark PLE and 8,500 examiners for UCE.
