The former Commander of the Land Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has officially been pipped as a four-star army general.
Muhoozi, was last week promoted from the rank of Lieutenant General to General by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
General Muhoozi, was pipped by Gen Caleb Akandwanaho Salim Saleh (Rtd), a senior General of the National Resistance Army (NRA) and Senior Presidential Advisor for Defence, and Muhoozi’s wife Charlotte, at Bombo Military Barracks, an event officiated by the Chief of Defence Forces, General Wilson Mbadi.

At the same ceremony, the newly appointed Commander of Land Forces, Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga, was pipped by Saleh and Kayanja’s wife, before being officially handed office.
Lt Gen Muhanga had been promoted from the rank of Major General to Lieutenant General.
