President Yoweri Museveni has this morning departed for Nairobi, Kenya to witness the inauguration of H.E William Ruto as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya.

“We shall continue to foster our good relations with Kenya & the other EAC countries for the prosperity of our people,” said Museveni who is among other 20 Heads of State expected in Kenya for today’s inauguration.

Thousands of Kenyans have already started making their way to Kasarani Stadium in the capital Nairobi ahead of the swearing-in ceremony.

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda arrived in Nairobi on Monday evening and met with President-elect Dr. William Ruto where they discussed the deep bilateral relations between Kenya and Rwanda, and much more going forward.

Burundi President Evariste Ndayishimiye andH.E Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan also arrived in the Country to attend the inauguration ceremony.

Kiir was received by Amb. Matwanga and Amb. George Orina.

H.E Cleophas Sipho Dlamini, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Swaziland accompanied by First Lady Ms. Lomvula Dlamini, was received by Hon. Moses Kuria, former MP Gatundu South.

President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Felix Tshisekedi met Ruto, on arrival, at the Karen Office in Nairobi County.

“We are indebted to the Democratic Republic of Congo’s cordial friendship with Kenya, which has given room for the exploration of huge economic and social opportunities that are mutually beneficial to the people,” Ruto said after meeting Tshisekedi.

H.E. Maja Gojkovic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information in the Republic of Serbia, was received by Amb. Ann Wanjohi, Director Cultural Diplomacy.

H.E Mr. Christian Wulff, Former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, was received by Amb. Lucy Kiruthu, Present was Germany Ambassador to Kenya Mr. Sebastian Groth.

H.E Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe, was received at JKIA by Amb. Stella Munyi.

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, was received at JKIA by Hon. Adan Duale MP Garissa Township.

Republic of South Africa Deputy President H.E. Mr David Mabuza, was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by Rt. Hon. Mr Amason Kingi, the Speaker of Senate of Kenya.

H.E. Mr Juan Antonio, Minister of Foreign Security, Equitorial Guinea, was received by Amb. Stella Orina, Director General FSA.

H.E Denis Sassou-Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo, was received on arrival at JKIA by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and Amb George Orina.

H.E. Wavel Ramkalawan, President of Seychelles, was received by Cecily Mbarire, Embu County Governor and Amb George Orina.

H.E. Hailemariam Desalegn, the Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, was received at the JKIA by Mr. James Kiiru, Deputy Director Africa.

H.E. Malik Agar, Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan, was received at JKIA by H.E. Issa Timamy, Governor of Lamu County.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat was received at the JKIA by Amb. Jean Kamau, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ethiopia.

H.E. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of Mozambique, was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Amb. George Orina and Amb. Paul Ndungu.
