Ministers in charge of security and leaders from Karamoja met this morning to discuss the security situation in Karamoja and neighboring districts.
The meeting, chaired by the Vice President was attended by the Ministers of Security-Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, of State for Minerals-Peter Lokeris, David Muhoozi of Internal Affairs and Anyakum Ester from the Office of the Prime Minister.
Others at the meeting were the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Wilson Mbadi, the Director-General of the Internal Security Organization-Col Charles Oluka, Nuwagira John, from Uganda Police Force alongside several MPs from the Teso and Karamoja regions.
The meeting discussed different modalities regarding the security situation in the region amidst increased reports of cattle rustling.
