Violent protests erupted early this Monday morning in the city of Goma in DR Congo againsts deployment of Rwandan Police in their city.
According to Congolese media, the Residents accuse Rwanda of being an enemy country whose forces have caused thousands of deaths in the DR Congo, and therefore do not want its armed men in the mineral-rich country, more so in the city of Goma.
Recently, Kigali media reported that the country had signed an agreement with Kinshasa allowing the former to deploy a contingent of its national police force to the city of Goma.
The agreement that has since been disowned by the DR Congo Commissioner General of Police Diuedonné Amuli Bahigwa, follows the deployment of Uganda’s National Army-UPDF in Beni around Rwenzori mountain ranges to hunt down the ADF terrorists, and Kampala’s embarking on construction of 223Km roads in DR Congo, among them one linking the common border of Bunagana to Goma.
