According to the organisers, revellers will be treated to exciting pristine nature and wildlife as well as enjoying company of other fun loving Ugandans.

Some of the activities in this drive will among others include nature walks along zebras and impalas, early morning game drives, safe and secure boat cruises managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority on lake Mburo and sundowner cocktail at Kazuma look out hill.

Others will include a moonlight jungle dinner, campfire, love themed stories around the bonfire all in the middle of the wilderness rather at lake Mburo National park.

While unveiling the campaign, minister Kiwanda expressed his pleasure with the ministry’s partnership and Fernando Tours saying “such vibrant private initiatives bring a fresh angle of action packed wilderness experiences at incredibly affordable rates for all Ugandans.”

He said “For a long time, the biggest hindrance to local tourism was the perceived high cost of tourism, charging Ugandans in dollars.”

“Today however, we break that misconception by presenting to you Fernando Tours which is offering Ugandans extreme engagements with our beautiful Pearl of Africa at unbelievably affordable costs for as low as Shs 355,000 for singles and Shs 700,000 for a couple all inclusive of three days and two nights,” he added.

The cost includes all meals, accommodation, transport and people have been relieved from the stress of bookings and arrangements.

Kiwanda said that as part of the annual travel schedule, the ministry is running an all year long Quiz Night themed ‘Corporate Tourism Quiz Night’ which will run once every two months.

He said that the previous tourism corporate quiz nights had on average attracted 25 to 30 corporate teams, bringing the total number of participants to between 200 to 250 people.

“We usually encourage corporate companies to register a participating team of anywhere between 4 to 10 people mostly workmates who are ready for a night of brain whacking challenging fun, competition and learning about tourism in Uganda,” he said.

“At the quiz night, we show the world some of the coolest places to visit in Uganda, invite leading tour and travel experts to give key note addresses but most of all it is an opportunity for participants to rub shoulders with fellow corporates. Best team usually carries home a cash prize of Uganda Shillings one million,” he said.
