Defence Minister Lauds E.U for Continued Collaboration with UPDF

E.U Ambassador, Attilio Pacifici (L) meeting with Minister Mwesige, Gen Muhoozi and other Defence officials.

The Ambassador and Head of European Commission Delegation to Uganda, H.E Attilio Pacifici has met with the Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Hon Adolf Mwesige.

The meeting took place on Thursday at the Ministry headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala.

In his remarks, Ambassador Pacifici expressed great appreciation to the UPDF for the great work they are doing within the region.

He also mentioned that the European Union had dispatched a humanitarian team to aid in the screening and containment of Ebola along the border of Uganda and DRC.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the European Union for the continued support to Uganda in various areas.

The CDF, Gen David Muhoozi welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for the continued cooperation between Uganda and the European Union.

The meeting further discussed various areas where the European Union can collaborate with the UPDF in execution of its mandate.

Also present at the meeting were the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Defence, Mrs Rosette Byengoma and the Joint Chief of Staff Maj Gen Joseph Musanyufu.
