Kawempe South Member of Parliament (MP), Mubarak Munyagwa has threatened to cause an attack and burn the security officers whom he claims are trailing him in secrecy.

Munyagwa alleges that ever since the late Arua Municipality MP, Ibrahim Abiriga was gunned down, he has been seeing people trailing him at every movement and they have as well been seen surveying his home.

He has identified one of the people trailing him as Biyinababo James who he said he intercepted and manhandled yesterday in Busabala as he followed him and was found possessing a Police Identity card.

The legislator alleged that Biyinababo confessed to have been on duty to follow him as there is a general inquiry that is conducted on him by the security agancies.

Munyagwa asked that if there is any investigations on any crimes suspected about him, he should officially be informed and summoned.

He then sounded caution to the security organs that he will physically sort out such individuals if the trailing is not stopped.

Munyagwa says he is not ready to report or ask for protection from police which he alleges are the same people behind insecurity.

“I have not called you here to request for police security because I know the murderers are security operatives themselves, I can not allow to be protected by murderers,” Munyagwa said while addressing media at Parliament.

Insecurity amongst MPs is rising as many from the NRM party reported this to President Museveni and asked for guards.

While commenting about Munyagwa’s statements regarding his security threats, Police spokesperson, SSP Emilian Kayima on Monday advised the legislator to formally report the threats to Police.

“If Hon Munyagwa has any threats, reporting these to the media is not enough. He should go to Police and report this,” Kayima said while responding to query raised by a reporter on Monday during the Police weekly press briefing.

Kayima noted that some politicians have mastered the art of using such sweeping claims as part of their political theatrics.
