Ugandan visual artist Natasha Karungi, popularly known as Kashushu, has announced a new solo exhibition, FEARLESS: A Metamorphosis Story, scheduled to take place from November 14 to 22 at Summit Residence in Naguru, Kampala.
The exhibition will combine digital illustration, wearable fashion art, interactive gaming and extended reality (XR) installations.
According to the organisers, the exhibition is the result of a 222-day drawing challenge during which Kashushu created one original artwork each day.
The body of work is organised around four themes — love, femininity, spirituality and self-awareness — and uses the stages of a butterfly’s metamorphosis as a framework for exploring personal transformation.
Kashushu said the daily drawing exercise was intended to confront her own fears and develop the discipline required to continue creating.
“I started this daily challenge to strip away fear and face the daunting void of a blank page every single day,” she said.
“The goal was never simply to accumulate 222 individual pieces; it was about cultivating the quiet grit to show up until fear completely surrendered its power. FEARLESS documents that raw, beautiful process of transforming from the inside out, and I want our audience to feel that exact surge of liberation through sound, art, technology and interactive play.”
The exhibition will also feature digital collectibles, interactive installations and spaces for networking, according to the organisers.
The opening event on November 14 is expected to bring together artists, collectors, technology practitioners, creative industry professionals and other cultural enthusiasts.
Kashushu’s recent work includes campaigns for brands such as Smirnoff Uganda. She was also named a winner at the 2026 Africa International Design Award.
The exhibition is part of the artist’s continued exploration of digital art and technology and their use in contemporary visual storytelling.
