GLASGOW, Scotland — Uganda’s national netball team, the She Cranes, have made a strong start at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games after securing convincing victories over Wales and Trinidad & Tobago.
The She Cranes opened their campaign with a 59-50 victory against Wales, producing a composed performance to begin their tournament on a winning note.
Uganda followed up with an emphatic 80-34 victory over Trinidad & Tobago at the Hydro arena.
Unlike the closely contested match against Wales, the She Cranes controlled the game from the opening whistle, racing into a 40-19 halftime lead before extending their advantage in the second half.
The victory showcased Uganda’s attacking strength and defensive organisation as they maintained pressure throughout the contest.
The team now faces a tougher challenge against Jamaica as they continue their quest for a strong finish at the Commonwealth Games.
The She Cranes have established themselves as one of Africa’s strongest netball sides and are aiming to improve on their previous Commonwealth Games performances.
