GOMBA — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has bid farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Uganda, H.E. Frederieke Quispel, while calling for increased Dutch investment in Uganda’s economy.
President Museveni met Ambassador Quispel during a farewell courtesy visit at his Kisozi farm in Gomba District, where the two discussed the progress of bilateral relations between Uganda and the Netherlands.
The President commended Ambassador Quispel for her service and contribution towards strengthening cooperation between the two countries during her tour of duty.
He thanked the outgoing envoy for her efforts in promoting partnerships in areas of mutual interest and wished her success in her next assignment.
President Museveni also encouraged Ambassador Quispel to continue promoting Uganda as an attractive investment destination, urging Dutch investors to explore opportunities available in key sectors of the economy.
He highlighted Uganda’s favourable investment environment and called for greater collaboration between the two countries to expand trade, investment and economic cooperation.
Ambassador Quispel presented her credentials to the Government of Uganda in August 2024 and has since worked to deepen bilateral ties between Kampala and The Hague through cooperation in areas including trade, development, agriculture and other sectors of mutual interest.
The Netherlands has remained one of Uganda’s longstanding development and economic partners, with cooperation spanning private sector investment, agriculture, water and sanitation, climate resilience and sustainable development initiatives.
The farewell meeting marked the conclusion of Ambassador Quispel’s diplomatic assignment in Uganda as both countries reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining strong bilateral relations.
