Naguru – Uganda’s vibrant digital creator community gathered at the Saladin Marketing Office, Naguru, on Friday, for “The Influence Plug,” a creator-focused event designed to equip influencers with the tools, insights, and networks to grow their content, brand collaborations, and impact.

The event, themed “Level Up Your Brand, Content & Hustle,” brought together top Ugandan digital creators, including Tazibone, Danze, Mr Henry, Uncle Mo, Zoe, and Eric Zachary, alongside industry leaders and brand partners supporting the creator economy.

“What better way to learn than hearing directly from a fellow creator,” said comedian Moses Kiboneka, aka Uncle Mo, who shared insights on growing influence with purpose. “It’s about turning skills, consistency, and digital presence into real opportunities and income.”

A Platform for Knowledge and Collaboration

The Influence Plug was structured around practical learning, networking, and brand engagement. Creators attended sessions on content creation, monetisation strategies, branding, and emerging digital trends.

“Our goal is to position creators as key partners in shaping communication for modern audiences,” said Danze Edwin, Head of Marketing at Next Media’s Nextcom. “We discussed how brands identify strong influencer work and what guides successful collaboration—critical knowledge for creators aiming to level up their content and impact.”

The event emphasised hands-on learning and authentic engagement, with creators and brands sharing the same space to explore collaboration opportunities. Discussions focused on the value of consistency, purposeful storytelling, and aligning content with brand objectives.

Showcasing Influencer Culture

“The Influence Plug” also highlighted the unique energy, style, and personality of Uganda’s creator community. Attendees showcased bold fashion, shared laughs, and engaged in micro-moments that reflected the humour, authenticity, and slang of the local digital culture. The event featured DJ shoutouts, crowd reactions, and live interactions that captured the real vibe of the influencer ecosystem.

“This is not just about events—it’s about creating a space where creators learn, share, and grow together,” said Eric Zachary Mugisha, a participant and digital storyteller.

Driving Impact in the Digital Space

Beyond networking, The Influence Plug aims to elevate the Ugandan creator economy. By connecting influencers with brands and teaching monetisation strategies, the event helps young people leverage digital platforms to make informed and purposeful content.

“Today’s conversations highlight how influence has become a driver of business, culture, and communication,” the organisers noted. “Creators are learning to turn ideas into content that moves audiences while positioning themselves for real opportunities.”

The event also reinforced the importance of ethical and authentic engagement, with organisers ensuring brand visibility, diversity of participation, and natural interaction throughout the sessions.

A Call to Action for the Creator Community

The Influence Plug concluded with a call for ongoing engagement, encouraging creators and brands to collaborate, learn, and innovate together. Organisers emphasised that this is just the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening Uganda’s digital influencer ecosystem.

“Creators, digital storytellers, and brand builders gathered here today for a space shaped by learning, sharing, and real growth,” said the organisers. “#TheInfluencerPlug brings the community together with purpose and direction.”

As Uganda’s digital landscape continues to expand, events like “The Influence Plug” underscore the growing role of influencers as cultural and business leaders, equipping them with the skills, networks, and insights to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
