Police confirmed on Monday that Jugen Gallant, a German national died last Friday as he was being transported to Nsambya Hospital from Case Hospital in Kampala where he had been admitted for two days.

“The body was taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital and a postmortem confirmed that he died of a heart attack,” a statement issued on Monday by Police Spokesperson, SSP Emilian Kayima read.

In yet another incident which occured today, a 54-year-old foreigner identified as Eric Yvomr from Belgium died after committing suicide.

According to Yvomr’s friend named Joseline Mupfasoni, a Burundian national, the deceased was found after he took his life at his residence at Vermigo apartments in Muyenga B, a suburb of Kampala.

Police said that a postmortem carried out on Yvomr’s body indeed confirmed suicide as cause of death.

The two deaths follow other deaths of a Finnish, Swedish, American and a German which occurred in a space three weeks between February 5 and 19.

Police recently revealed that toxicology reports confirmed that Nordlander Axel Andreas, 41, from Sweden and Terasvuori Thomas Juha Petteri, 42, from Finland who died in their hotel rooms at Sheraton Kampala and Pearl of Africa hotels respectively earlier this month were killed by narcotic drugs.

The other two; Montie Guy Watson, 61, a US national and Rita Charlottee, 76, from Sweden both of whom were in Uganda as tourists died from the Murchison Falls national park in separate incidents.

Watson was discovered dead in his hut in Bwana Tembo Safari Camp and was later said to have died of a heart attack while Charlottee collapsed on a nature walk.
