The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, has announced the Fourth Edition of the Uganda–United Arab Emirates (UAE) Business Forum, scheduled to take place from October 27 to 29, 2025, at the Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

Now established as a signature platform for advancing economic and commercial cooperation between Uganda and the UAE, the Forum has evolved into a continental hub for dialogue, trade, and strategic partnership. Building on the success of previous editions held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Kampala, this year’s Forum will reaffirm the two nations’ shared commitment to deepening trade, investment, and innovation ties.

The three-day engagement will convene government officials, business leaders, investors, and innovators from both nations for panel discussions, field visits, and direct business-to-business dialogues. Key areas of focus will include commercial agriculture, agro-industrialisation, tourism, oil and gas, renewable energy, infrastructure, innovation, and real estate—all in line with Uganda’s Vision 2040 and its agenda to foster a sustainable investment environment.

The Prime Minister of Uganda is expected to deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony, highlighting the country’s reform agenda and commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the UAE. Mr Ramathan Ggoobi, Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, will present Uganda’s economic outlook, positioning the country as a resilient and dynamic economy open for foreign investment. The Forum will close with a ceremony presided over by Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, marking another milestone in Uganda’s economic diplomacy.

Delegations from the Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah Chambers of Commerce and Industry are expected to attend, alongside senior Ugandan officials and private sector leaders.

Speaking ahead of the event, Ambassador Zaake Wanume Kibedi, Uganda’s Ambassador to the UAE, emphasised the growing strength of the relationship between the two countries: “The relationship between the UAE and Uganda has grown steadily over the past seven years. Hosting this edition in Kampala reflects our shared commitment to move beyond dialogue toward tangible partnerships. I call upon Ugandan businesses and UAE investors to register, attend, and convert discussions into long-term ventures.”

Mrs Margaret Kafeero, Head of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the Forum as a vital bridge between policy and partnership.

“The Uganda–UAE Business Forum represents a bridge where ideas transcend borders and transform into tangible outcomes,” she said. “Beyond strengthening economic ties, it fosters cultural and technological exchange, symbolising a partnership rooted in mutual trust and shared prosperity.”

The Forum will feature Government-to-Government, Government-to-Business, and Business-to-Business engagements, designed to encourage collaboration, policy dialogue, and market expansion. Field visits will showcase Uganda’s thriving sectors—from agribusiness and manufacturing to energy and innovation—demonstrating the country’s readiness to host world-class investment ventures.
