Tokyo, Japan – Team Uganda is making waves at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo as two of its top athletes advanced to the next stages in their respective events.

Joy Cheptoyek delivered a stellar performance to secure a spot in the women’s 5000m finals, which will take place this Saturday at 3:29 PM Ugandan time. Cheptoyek’s qualification has ignited excitement among Ugandan athletics fans, who are eager to see her compete for a medal on the world stage.

Meanwhile, middle-distance star Halimah Nakaayi cruised into the women’s 800m semi-finals. Her race is scheduled for tomorrow, offering Uganda another chance to make history at the championships.

The Uganda Athletics Federation celebrated both athletes on social media, calling on Ugandans to rally behind them as they chase glory at the global event.
