The highly anticipated MTN FUFA Awards 2024 lit up the Kampala Serena Hotel on 30th May 2025 in a star-studded ceremony that drew the crème de la crème of Uganda’s football community. The grand ballroom was packed to capacity, celebrating excellence in the beautiful game.

In his opening remarks, Rogers Byamukama, Chairperson of the Organising Committee and FUFA Executive Committee Member, expressed his excitement at the overwhelming support and turnout.

“Tonight is a beautiful day. We are not here to just celebrate footballers but also everyone who supports the beautiful game. We pledge that the 2024/2025 Season Awards will be much bigger than this,” said Byamukama.

FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim echoed the celebration, commending the return of the awards in full splendour and applauding FUFA TV for broadcasting the event live for the first time.

“The last time we had awards, I mentioned that the next event would be broadcast live — and now FUFA TV is doing exactly that,” he noted.

President Magogo also emphasised plans to realign the awards calendar to avoid overlaps experienced this year.

“We intend to have the 2024/2025 Awards before the end of this year. This will help us overcome the scheduling challenges we encountered this time around,” he added.

The night featured thrilling performances, emotional speeches, and a showcase of the very best in Ugandan football talent.
