Kampala city’s party lovers gathered at 1420 Bar & Lounge in Bugolobi for the first edition of Strictly Soul in 2025, an RnB phenomenon that brought together young adults and older generations to vibe to smooth RnB and soul tracks.
“Strictly Soul is more than just an event, it’s a cultural movement that brings people together to celebrate the shared love for RnB,” said Christine Kyokunda, Johnnie Walker Brand Manager.
The event featured a DJ lineup including DJ Akio, DJ Anselm, and DJ Bryan, who took the crowd on an electrifying musical journey through classic ’90s RnB anthems and latest chart-topping hits. The dance floor was packed, with an unstoppable crowd and electric vibes.

It was an RnB lover’s paradise, as jams from Lionel Richie, Usher, SZA, and more ruled the airwaves.
Johnnie Walker partnered with Strictly Soul to offer a range of whisky cocktails and bottles, providing something for everyone.
“The collaboration is simply phenomenal, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this,” said Kyokunda.
Strictly Soul originated in South Africa in 2020 and has since expanded to several African cities, including Kampala, which joined the movement in 2023.
