“I urge you to embrace continued training as it prepares you for missions and tasks in your military career,” he stated.

The Division Commander commended the graduates for mastering combat and technical skills, aligning with the strategic directives of the Commander-in-Chief.

“I am impressed that you have now acquired the skills to fight and customise tactics in accordance with the guidance of our Commander-in-Chief,” he said.

Maj Gen Nabasa also recognised the dedication of female combatants, noting their significant role in building strong foundations for professional advancement within the UPDF.

Additionally, he urged troops to prioritise good health and warned against detrimental behaviours such as alcoholism and promiscuity, which could compromise both personal well-being and professional effectiveness.

Brigadier General Wilberforce Sserunkuma, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, praised the training team, led by Lieutenant Colonel Deus William Achungwire, for delivering a comprehensive and effective programme tailored to the division’s operational requirements.

Colonel James Barigye Rukundo, the Division’s Operations and Training Officer, expressed gratitude to the leadership for their support, emphasising that the training had equipped soldiers with essential skills to address various challenges.

The ceremony also celebrated individual excellence. Private Ononge Samuel was named Best Overall, Private Baroda Alex won Best in Range, and Private Nabwire Catherine received the award for Best Female Trainee.

Senior military officers, including brigade commanders and staff, were present at the event, reflecting the significance of the occasion.
