In a world where taxation plays a vital role in sustainable development, Uganda’s Tracy Akello has emerged as a trailblazer, recognized globally for her expertise in taxation. 

Her remarkable achievement not only elevates Uganda’s position in the global taxation arena but also highlights the critical role taxation professionals play in shaping economic stability and growth.

Her impressive credentials include a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Laws from Makerere University, Kampala. With over 10 years of experience, she has established herself as a distinguished advocate of the High Court and all subordinate courts in Uganda, cementing her expertise in finance and taxation.

 Akello’s pursuit of excellence extends beyond Uganda’s borders. She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Corporate Governance (formerly ICSA UK), holds an Advanced Diploma in International Tax at the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK. This international certification underscores her commitment to mastering complex global tax systems.

Akello’s success inspires young Ugandans aspiring to enter law, finance, and taxation. Her work with Uganda Revenue Authority of has made a tangible impact, particularly in developing the country’s first-ever online procurement monitoring system (PPMS), funded by the World Bank.

Akello’s emergence as a global taxation leader is a national achievement, demonstrating Uganda’s commitment to fostering top-tier talent. Her expertise is posed to shape Uganda’s future tax policies, influencing interactions with international tax frameworks to combat tax evasion and improve revenue collection efficiency.
