Oscar Chelimo from Team Uganda has successfully qualified for the men’s 5000m finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
He finished 5th in his semi-final heat with a time of 13:52.46 and will compete in the final on August 10th at 8:50 PM EAT.
Winnie Nanyondo gave it her all in the Women’s 1500m repechage race at Paris 2024, finishing 8th with a time of 4:06:35.
She narrowly missed a spot in the finals.
“We are incredibly proud of her efforts and grateful for her dedication to representing Uganda on the world stage. Great job, Winnie!” said Uganda Olympians Committee (IOC).
Meanwhile, Tom Dradiga finished 6th in the 800m Heat 2.
“Tough luck, Tom! He’ll get another chance to advance in the repechage race tomorrow at 1:00pm. Let’s rally behind him!”
