The Consumer Guide Magazine (CGM) has announced this year’s Consumers Choice Awards gala dinner which will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024, in Kampala.

According to Bari Salam, CEO of CGM, the Consumer Choice Awards (CCA) was established with the sole purpose of recognizing business excellence for businesses.

“CCA recognises business excellence by conducting statistically a comprehensive and objective accurate independent market research survey to determine brand reputation, customer satisfaction and business excellence for the quality of their service, value, professionalism and integrity,” he told journalists at Golf Course Hotel last Friday.

He added: “It is a true reflection of the marketplace as it represents the opinion of consumers and buyers across Uganda. The award recognises the brand that consistently delivers a high level of service to its customers, day in and day out.”

Each year, the Consumer Guide Magazine will recognise the best companies for their earnest efforts in business excellence and keeping the customer’s best interests in mind.

According to Salam, the exciting selection process and the announcement of finalists culminates in the consumer choice awards dinner, a gala evening that will convene hundreds of the industry’s brightest luminaries to network, toast to the winners and celebrate the best companies voted by consumers

How it works

Each year across Uganda, Consumers Guide Magazine gathers opinions, perceptions and expectations through the responses of thousands of consumers and businesses.

All winners go through a rigorous selection process conducted by a third-party research firm to ensure only the most outstanding service providers are the winners within their respective industries.

CCA represents a “Seal of Excellence” that shoppers can take trust and confidence in.

“We are all consumers, every day, everywhere. And when things go wrong, we pay the price. Sometimes that price is something small, sometimes the price can be our health or rights or our lives,” said Salam.

He said the Consumers Choice Award helps consumers choose wisely for their personal, home and business needs.

“The result is fewer regrets, and saved time and money. Poor purchase decisions often result in quite the opposite. Take the guesswork out of your next purchase!”

He said when choosing a bank, courier service company, digital pay TV company etc, consumers want to know whom they are really dealing with.

“Quality, professionalism and trust are all important considerations when choosing a service provider. The Consumers Choice awards help consumers make the right choice.”

Salam called on all consumers to vote for their favourite brands in various categories on the CGM website.

Voting is open and will run until July 7, 2024, at midnight.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Bidco Uganda Limited’s Midwestern Regional Head, Amin Babu, discussed a range of products in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
