2 Drivers Flee After Queens Way Accident that Killed One

Two drivers have fled after allegedly causing a motor accident in Kampala which left a man dead on Tuesday morning, according to Police.

The accident occurred along Queens Way in Kampala and involved a trailer Reg No UBE 164D and an ambulance Toyota Ace Reg No UBA 972G. It happened at around 1:35am on Tuesday.

One person, an unidentified man was killed and other five people injured in the incident.

According to the Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said both drivers are currently on the run.

“One person died on spot and the body was transferred to city motuary for postmortem. Five people are believed to have sustained injuries and were also rushed to Mulago hospital for treatment,” ASP Owoyesigyire said in a statement.

Police says the exact cause of the accident is still unknown and that investigations have been initiated regarding the matter.
