The Deputy Commander of the Reserve Forces, Maj Gen Stephen Tumusiime Rwabantu, has warned those thinking of destabilising Uganda’s peace that they will face the full force of the army if they dare continue with their plans.
Rwabantu made the remarks this morning at the Headquarters of Ministry of Defence in Mbuya, at a ceremony held to decorate the 62 officers that were recently promoted to various ranks, by the Commander- in -Chief, President Yoweri Museveni.
While addressing guests, Rwabantu revealed how he is ready to join his boss in the bush again, like was the case in 1981 if the peace and stability of Uganda is threatened.
“If anybody is trying to destabilize this country and the President, I will be the first one again to join him to fight those who think that they may come up and destabilize the country, they are day dreamers,” Rwabantu said.
He emphasized; “People who imagine that they can destabilize Uganda are night dreamers because we are still around and we shall protect the peace we struggled for no matter what it takes.”
Rwabantu went ahead to warn that enemies of Uganda shouldn’t think of the bush war heroes as tired and old lot, saying they still have the ability to thwart any threats to the country.
“We are growing old, but we are still able. So, if anybody wants to destablize this country, this peace didn’t come on a silver plate. We lost our people in the bush, some of us are casualties but here we are. So we are warning those who keep running around and they think they will destabilize our country, they should think twice,” Rwabantu said.
