Vivo Energy Uganda, the company that distributes and markets Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Uganda, has rewarded twenty lucky customers with school fees for their children as part of the ‘Kigwera Ku Shell’ back-to-school promotion.

The promotion, launched in September 2024, aimed at supporting our customers and easing the financial burden on parents during the back-to-school season.

It provided an opportunity for participants to win up to one million Uganda shillings in school fees along with other exciting prizes.

Customers who purchased fuel at Shell service stations, shopped at Shell Select stores, serviced their vehicles, or bought Shell Gas had the chance to win. Every qualifying purchase earned them Shell Club points and an entry into the prize draw.

Joanita Menya, Managing Director, Vivo Energy Uganda, reflected on the profound impact of the “Kigwera ku Shell” promotion on their customers.

“The back-to-school season is usually stressful for most parents and guardians, and we are happy that we could bring a smile to some of our customers’ faces with this promotion. This initiative was designed to give back to our loyal customers and support them in a meaningful way,” Menya said at the reward ceremony held at Shell Kitetika in Wakiso District.

She also handed over prizes (school fees worth twenty million Uganda Shillings) to the winners.

Alinafe Mkavea, Chief Commercial Officer at Vivo Energy Uganda, said: “Education is a cornerstone of development, and we are proud to have supported our customers and their families by contributing to their children’s school fees for term one of the new year 2025. This aligns with our commitment to empowering communities and making a positive difference.”

The promotion has offered multiple ways to participate, making it accessible to a wide range of customers. To qualify, customers had to buy fuel worth Shs 50,000 for cars and Shs 5,000 for boda bodas (motorcycles).

Participation was also open to customers who spent Shs10,000 at participating Shell Select shops, and those serviced their cars for Shs50,000 boda bodas for Shs10,000, bought or refilled Shell Gas.

Vivo Energy Uganda also unveiled the next phase of the campaign, dubbed “Kigwera ku Shell – Extra” at the event.

The promotion will run for two months, offering customers the chance to win a variety of rewards.

Customers purchasing fuel worth Shs100,000 will stand a chance to win a KFC meal voucher, a beverage from Java House, or Shell Select stores shopping vouchers.

Additionally, customers spending over Shs40,000 on shopping at Shell Select will be rewarded with Shell-branded merchandise.
