Rubaga – Vipers SC capped off a dominant season with a commanding 2-0 victory over KCCA FC, lifting their fourth Stanbic Uganda Cup title in a historic final played at the inaugurated FUFA Stadium in Kadiba.
The win not only crowned the Venoms as 2024 Uganda Cup champions but also secured them a domestic double, having already clinched the Uganda Premier League title.

It’s the second time in the club’s history they’ve achieved this feat, following their 2022-2023 success.
Vipers Strike Early, Dominate the Stage

In front of a buzzing crowd, Vipers made their intentions clear from the outset. Livingstone Mulondo headed home in the 5th minute from an Allan Okello corner, setting the tone for a well-orchestrated performance.
KCCA tried to respond, with Emmanuel Anyama missing a golden chance to equalise in the 39th minute. The match featured rising tension and physical duels, with yellow cards shown to James Mubezi (KCCA), Milton Karisa, and Derrick Ndahiiro (Vipers).

Sentamu Seals the Deal
KCCA made a tactical change at halftime, introducing Joel Sserunjogi to reinforce midfield control. But in the 55th minute, a defensive error by Peter Magambo allowed Yunus Junior Sentamu to fire home a ruthless volley, doubling Vipers’ lead.

KCCA brought on Derrick Nsibambi and Julius Poloto to inject urgency, but Vipers’ defence held firm. Abdul-Karim Watambala nearly scored a stunner from 35 yards, as Vipers continued to threaten.
Substitutions and Closing Moments

Vipers freshened their lineup with Moses Waiswa replacing Okello, and later Gusto Mulongo subbing in for Sentamu. The Congolese forward impressed immediately, testing the KCCA goalkeeper from long range.
In stoppage time, Nicholas Wadada lit up the stands with a clever one-two before being fouled and subbed off for Grant Matisko. Moments later, referee Shamirah Nabadda signalled full-time, confirming Vipers’ triumph.
