Speaking at the handover, Rebecca Nyakairu, the UPPC Public and Corporate Affairs Manager emphasized the Corporation’s commitment to social development and community wellbeing through giving back to the community, particularly in areas that support education and child welfare.

“As uppc we want to support the communities. We are to do more of these. We brought some items that are done and produced by us, to help improve on the wellbeing of the communities,” she said.

She added, “We want to give the little one hope, help them keep in school.”

She noted that UPPC is committed to uplifting vulnerable communities through such initiatives.

“Education is a fundamental right for every child, and through such initiatives UPPC is desirous to inspire and support the vulnerable communities. We are proud to play a small part in helping these young minds to grow and achieve their dreams,” she remarked.

Mugabe Obadiah, a Director at Barbie Children Foundation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for UPPC’s contribution.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of UPPC. These scholastic materials and household essentials will go a long way in ensuring that the children under our care have the necessary tools to succeed in school and live healthy lives,” he said.

Meanwhile, Joseph Opio Okurut, Director Internal Operations, used the opportunity to launch the new UPPC Smart Exercise Books.

He noted that the high-quality exercise books, featuring age-appropriate messages, were introduced through the Foundation’s donations.

“What makes the book different is quality, it is a talking book, it comes with a number of messages for the learners. We are not only selling the book but we are also selling the messages,” he said.
