Six rebels killed

Earlier, the Commander of Operation Shujaa, Maj Gen Dick Olum, told the press that six rebels were killed and five guns recovered.

Olum who is heading an operation to hunt for the suspected ADF rebels who recently attacked Kasese District, said three of the guns were recovered two days after the attack on June 16 which left 43 people dead.

He said the group killed on Wednesday was commanded by Abua-kasi and that one of the battles took place at two rivers of Talia and Mwalika.

In his statement after the ADF Attack on Lhubiriha school, President Museveni ordered the Chief of Defence Forces to inform the country of the “damage we have done to the terrorists since the operation started”.

The mission dubbed Operation Shujaa, intended to deal the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) a decisive blow, commenced in November of 2021 after the Islamist rebel group masterminded two suicide bomb attacks in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, that claimed several lives.
