A Uganda Peoples’ Defence Force (UPDF) helicopter gunship has crashed in Ntoroko district.
Defence spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, said the incident happened on Tuesday January 2, 2023.
“We regret to report a Helicopter Gunship crash this afternoon at around 1400hrs in the general areas of Karugutu-Ntoroko district,” said Kulayigye.
He added: “We lost the helicopter gunship and the crew plus a civilian on who’s house it crashed.”
He said investigations are underway to find out the cause of the crash.
According to Kulayigye, the crew died heroes in the struggle to pacify the western frontier of the deadly ADF rebels.
