The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has revealed that the 29th Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF), will take place on October 3-10, 2023, at the UMA showgrounds, Lugogo.
The UMA trade fair is set to spotlight digital transformation and innovation that drive manufacturing and trade efficiency.
This year, officials at UMA expect an average of 300,000 visitors.
According to Deo J.B Kayemba, UMA Chairman, the event will cast a spotlight on the creative power of industrialists and their ability to leverage technological advancements for value addition.
“We invite businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators from every sector to join us at the UMA 29th Uganda International Trade Fair. This event is not just a platform for showcasing products; it is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the power of innovation. Together, we will drive manufacturing and trade efficiency through digital transformation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ezra Muhumuza, UMA Executive Director, said this year’s Trade Fair is different as it aligns well with the organization’s digital strategy and roadmap.
On her part, Cathy Muwumuza, Superintendent of Support Services at the STI Secretariat, said the dedication of manufacturers helps bridge the gap between ideas to breakthroughs that become an everyday part of life and stimulate economic growth.
Adding, “This year’s theme captures our essence: “Driving Efficiency through Digital Transformation and Innovation. Together, we envision a future with seamless trade, proficient manufacturing, and non-stop innovation!”
