Miss Tourism Uganda, Kankwanzi Margaret is among the 46 tourism beauty queens from around the globe who are contesting for the Miss Tourism International 2018 crown in Malaysia.
A total of 46 countries including Uganda will be competing to make it to the 21st Miss Tourism International finale on December 21 at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa.
This year’s contest is themed ‘Glitz and Glamour’ and it seeks to create a platform to educate and promote tourism and cultural exchange among participating delegates. Kankwanzi and the other contestants will take part in a series of activities in the next two weeks.
Participating countries include Armenia, Australia, Belarus, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, India, Indonesia and Kenya.
Others are Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Venezuela and Vietnam.
“Miss Tourism Uganda, Queen Kankwanzi Margaret is doing her best to represent Uganda at Miss Tourism International 2018 in Malaysia, let’s show her support and vote for her. She can bring the crown home,” a post on Kankwanzi’s official Facebook page reads.
To vote her, one will be required to Download the ‘One Smart Star’ App, Dial 1313, Look for Uganda and vote. The voting system allows one vote daily until December 21.
Kankwanzi, 22, who is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism was crowned Uganda’s Miss Tourism in October challenging 12 other contestants.
The finale in Malaysia will also see four contestants crowned Miss Tourism Metropolitan International, Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International, Miss Tourism Global and Dreamgirl of The Year International.
Other titles to be awarded are Best in National Costume, Best in Social Media, Miss Friendship, Miss popularity and Best in Talent.
