Ugandan football referees have once again earned international recognition after being confirmed on the FIFA Refereeing International Lists for 2026, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced.
In a statement released on Thursday evening, FUFA announced that it had received official confirmation from FIFA, confirming that many Ugandan match officials had been included on the prestigious list, allowing them to officiate at FIFA and Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions during the 2026 international season.
The confirmation underscores the continued progress in refereeing standards in Uganda and reflects the sustained investment by FUFA in referee development, assessment, and international exposure.
“The inclusion of Ugandan referees on the FIFA international lists is a testament to the deliberate efforts put into training, fitness, integrity and performance management,” FUFA said, adding that regular local and international courses have helped align Ugandan referees with global officiating standards.
Uganda will be represented across several refereeing categories, including referees, assistant referees, futsal referees and beach soccer referees.
Among the referees listed for 2026 are Kasalirwe Lucky Razake, Nabadda Shamirah, Okello Dick, Murungi Diana, Oloya William, Nantongo Josephine, Duula Joshua and Olemu George.
The assistant referees confirmed on the list include Katenya Ronald, Ongiera Immaculate, Okudra Emmanuel, Nassolo Elizabeth, Mulindwa Hakim, Mutonyi Jane, Musisi Brianson, Nantabo Lydia Wanyama, Katerega Ashraf, Nayebare Babrah and Magoola Ashraf.
In futsal refereeing, Uganda will be represented by Nsubuga Brian Emmy and Sengendo Isaac, while the beach soccer referees confirmed are Kintu Ivan Bayige, Ssenteza Muhammad, Kawagga Bazirio Kennedy and Munyendoh Joel Chote.
FUFA said the Referees Committee remains committed to strengthening the quality of officiating in the country through continuous education and exposure.
The 2026 FIFA international listing means the selected officials are eligible to officiate at top-tier continental and global competitions, further enhancing Uganda’s visibility and reputation in international football officiating.
